The July 2017 Show at the Pontiac Community Art Center opens on Saturday, July 1 in the Joe Bailey Gallery. This exhibit is entitled ‘‘Fire and Smoke: Gunpowder Art’. ‘Fire and Smoke’ is an exhibit of two Pontiac Art Center artists, John Fitzgerald and Kathy Zehr. Together, they collaborated to create artwork by placing gunpowder on-pre-prepared canvas and art paper to create interesting artwork, then setting it on fire. ‘Fire and Smoke’ will be on display at the Art Center from July1 through July 30 during regular Art Center hours.
The Art Center is located at 103 West Madison St. across from the historic Courthouse in Pontiac. Hours for the Art Center are Monday through Friday, 10 am to 5 pm, Saturday 10 am to 4 pm, and Sunday 9:30am to 4pm.
There is no admission fee and the public is welcome.
