[ARCHIVED] Bleacher Bums tickets on sale January 30.

Vermillion Players next dinner theater production at The Eagle Performing Arts and Conference Center will be Bleacher Bums, a comedy all too relate-able to all Cubs fans. Dinner theater reservations for Bleacher Bums will open to the General Public on Monday, January 30 and can be made by calling the Eagle Box Office at 815-844-1187 (10:00 AM-4:00 PM Monday through Friday) or by stopping at the Pontiac City Hall. The show will run for two weekends: March 31-April 2 and April 7-9 with Friday and Saturday evening performances and Sunday matinees.

Bleacher Bums is written by Joe Mantegna. In the bleachers at Chicago's Wrigley Field, die hard Cub fans root for their team. The group includes a rabid cheerleader, a blind man who follows the game by transistor radio and does his own play by play, a bathing beauty, a nerd and various other bleacher denizens. As the game proceeds, they bet among themselves on every conceivable event, go out for frosty malts or beers, try to pick up the bathing beauty and, occasionally, watch the game. The Cubs inevitably blow it in the ninth and the villainous Marvin, who always bets against the Cubs figuring he can't lose, cleans up. The bleacher bums remain undaunted they will be back tomorrow to root for the home team.

Doors open at 6:00 for Friday and Saturday evening shows. Dinner service is from 6:15-7:00 and the show begins at 7:30. Doors will open at 12:30 for Sunday matinee shows with dinner service running from 12:45-1:30 and the show beginning at 2:00. The cost is $35 for adults and $25 for children 12 and under. Discounted pricing is available for groups of 20 or more by calling Pontiac Tourism at (815) 844-5847. The buffet dinner is catered by Bernardi's II of Pontiac.
