[ARCHIVED] Pontiac Community Art Center announces the January 2017 Gallery Show ‘Wood to Paper’.

The January 2017 Show at the Pontiac Community Art Center opens on Thursday, January 5, in the Joe Bailey Gallery and runs through Sunday January 29. This exhibit is entitled ‘Wood to Paper’

‘Wood to Parer’ is a collaboration between local artists Pam Beeson and Jim Woodburn. Woodburn is a wood craftsman, and began working with wood in the 5th grade. He found a antique saw and started making lawn ornaments, and has been skillfully working with wood ever since. Woodburn’s pieces include furniture crafted from local and exotic woods.

Pam Beeson is a photographer. She got her love of photography in high school. She asked for a camera for Christmas, and her sister got one instead. Santa was a bit confused, so she borrowed her camera and has been chasing light ever since. For this show, Beeson concentrated on large prints and canvases. Both artists share a love for modern rustic, wide open spaces and Longhorn cattle.

The Pontiac Community Art Center Gallery is located at 103 West Madison St., Pontiac. Winter hours for the Art Center are Monday through Friday, 10 am to 5 pm, Saturday 10 am to 4 pm, and Sunday 12 noon to 4pm. There is no admission fee and the public is welcome.
