Xudong Jiang, an artist from Guangzhou, China, the capital and largest city of Guangdong Province, has recently announced his plan to come to Pontiac to show his most recent works. Through his connection with Tang Dongbai, of Pontiac’s Dongbai International Airbrush Art School, Jiang’s art will be on display at the Art School on Friday, October 21 from 1 PM to 7 PM. On Saturday and Sunday, October 22 & 23 from 11 AM to 4 PM. The Art School is located at 425 West Madison Street.
Xudong Jaing is an artist who draws much of his inspiration and approach to art from the Chinese traditional art fields. Over the course of his professional life, he has built up a solid foundation of works, many that are known for absorbing, refining and integrating traditional Chinese culture. Deep within his work are the core tenets of ancient Chinese philosophy: harmony between man and nature, peace among all peoples. At the same time, his work has a unique modernist aesthetic, reflecting modern society. Nearly 20 of Jiang’s paintings will be on display at the Art School, some of them available for purchase. In addition, the artist is expected to work on new projects while he is in Pontiac.
In the process of creation, Jiang mixes the traditional techniques Chinese aesthetic expression with modern painting materials. That combination makes possible new explorations in the aspects of the hue and form of the picture, and to inject new connotation, content and life into the national traditional artistic symbols. His works have been shown in national, provincial and municipal exhibitions and the artist has held several solo exhibitions.
