[ARCHIVED] The Vermillion Players Presents: The Jungle Book

The Jungle Book 2023

Vermillion Players Presents, a Unified Production

The Jungle Book

Directed by Laura Baumgardner

Produced by Brooke Sauter and Terri Heinz-Butler

Vermillion Players is excited to announce our SECOND ANNUAL adult UNIFIED theatre production of The Jungle Book. Directed by Laura Baumgardner and Produced by Brooke Sauter and Terri Heinz-Butler.

Banished by the ferocious tiger, Shere Khan (Kyle Schott), a human boy named Mowgli (Clo Mayback) and his panther friend, Bagheera (Michael Aaron), are on the run in the deepest parts of the jungle. On their journey, the two meet a sinister snake named Kaa (Cherie Monical and Ethan Bray), a herd of elephants (Jamie Martin and Brittany Janz) and a giant bear named Baloo (Nathan Joerndt), who teaches them the swingin' musical rhythms of the jungle. After surviving a dangerous encounter with a band of monkeys (Russ Roudebush, James Housman, Donnie Blair, and Brenna Bell) led by Queen Louie (Baylee Ritter-Hatzer), Mowgli and Bagheera are forced to run for their lives. When Shere Khan returns, our heroes must rally their fellow animals into battle and restore peace throughout the jungle. Storytellers Joseph List and Mitch Kelley help to tell the story. Also in the cast are Austin Vanover, Teri Roudebush, Haley Salinas, Lucy Fenn, Eric Lewis, Bre Pulliam, Shane Lautenschlaeger, Ashley Diaz, and Adam Blair.

What is Unified theatre? It is an awesome opportunity for people with and without intellectual disabilities to perform together. Unified Partners act alongside and assist their partners as needed. Director Laura Baumgardner has directed Life Skills students at PTHS for over 20 years in numerous Unified Theatre productions and Vermillion Players is now offering this opportunity to the community! We hope you will join us for this fun production.
