Downtown Light Up Parade & Tree Lighting
Friday, November 25, 2022
We’re excited to announce the return of one of our favorite holiday traditions!
On Friday, November 25 join us at 5:45 in Block 59 for our annual tree lighting ceremony. This year will feature the unveiling of a NEW lighted sculpture in Block 59 from welding students at the Livingston Area Career Center, a few words from the Mayor, and performances from local performing arts groups.
Immediately following the tree lighting the parade will step off from the First Lutheran Church and head north on Mill Street, turn East on Washington Street, north on Chicago, and west on Madison. It will conclude at the County Market parking lot. Santa will then return to his house on the Madison Street side of the courthouse to greet all of the children waiting for him.
Local businesses, organizations, groups, and individuals are encouraged to create their own floats to participate in the parade. There is no cost to enter. Are you interested in creating a float for this year’s event? Go to https://downtownpontiacil.com/light-up-parade/ and fill out the online form, or download a pdf to fill out. Forms will also be available at Pontiac City Hall (115 W. Howard St., Pontiac, IL).
