The Pontiac Jolly Trolley is used on all Saturdays and some Sundays during the tourist season for free "hop-on : hop-off" tours of the major attractions in town. It is available to the citizens of Pontiac and visitors for use by groups of 10 or more at other times by special arrangement.
The trolley will hold a maximum of 25 people. The trolley is equipped with a wheelchair lift. The trolley has a heating system for winter use, however, it does not have air conditioning. During the summer months, we remove the windows from the rear section of the trolley to help keep the interior more comfortable.
Trolley Rules to keep in mind:
The trolley is NOT available on Saturdays between 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM during the tourism season (April through October). During these hours, the trolley operates its regular, 30-minute history tour around the downtown area of Pontiac. You are welcome to share the trolley with other visitors during the regular trolley tours.
No food or drink is allowed on the trolley, with the exception of bottled water. Absolutely NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED by State Law.
The trolley must be back in the trolley garage by 7 PM.
The trolley is not allowed to leave the Pontiac city limits. (Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis. Please contact Pontiac Tourism at (815) 844-5847.)
**Please remember that all of the trolley drivers are volunteers. If you book the trolley and enjoy the ride, tip the driver - they do appreciate it!
